recollected paper and a slice of chocolate cake

In the spring of 2006, with a little paper trimmer and a pint of book-binding glue, I started making journals from pages of recollected papers. I’ve since gotten myself a big paper trimmer and much more glue, and the journals I make in my sunny studio in Brooklyn are carried by stores in New York City, Chicago, and Berkeley.

When I’m not busy filling orders for handmade journals, I’m tinkering away at my other projects: painting; writing about sustainable design; tracking the books on road trip, america; and creating a new line of journals using photographic prints.

On the days when I’m not in the studio, I’m enjoying the sunny outdoors with my husband, looking for quaint new stores and cafes, and craving freshly-made chocolate cake.
